Loom's free plan limits in 2026

Loom's free Starter plan allows recordings of up to 5 minutes, 25 videos per person (archived videos count), quality up to 720p, and no downloads. Workspaces linked to Atlassian, which every new workspace has been since February 2026, take at most 10 users on Starter. Removing the limits takes Business, at $18 per user a month or $15 billed yearly. Emaki's free recorder has none of these limits.

Step by step

Loom free plan limits

  1. Count your videos

On Loom's Starter plan, every video you've made counts toward the 25, archived ones too. At 25, Loom asks you to delete some or upgrade before you record again.

  2. Watch the clock

A Starter recording counts down and stops at 5 minutes. Plan a longer walkthrough as several videos, or record it with a tool that has no limit.

  3. Download what you need while you can

Starter can't download videos. If you're on a paid trial or plan, download the videos you want to keep before it ends.

  4. Or record without the limits

Emaki records your screen, camera and microphone with no time limit, no video cap and no account, and downloads MP4 for free.

  • Loom's free plan includes comments, emoji reactions, viewer insights, captions and integrations with Slack, Jira, Confluence and Gmail. Those, a shared team library and links that stay up are where Loom is still ahead.
  • Loom's prices and limits change from time to time. The figures here are from Loom's own pricing page and Atlassian's help pages, checked in November 2026.
