How to save a full page screenshot as a PDF

Capture the page with the Emaki extension, then export it from the editor as a PDF. It's free: Emaki splits the capture into pages. With Emaki Pro ($10/month or $100/year), choose PDF with URL and time to print the page URL and capture time on every page.

Step by step

Save a full page screenshot as a PDF

  1. Open the side panel

    Add Emaki from the Chrome Web Store, then click its icon in the toolbar to open the side panel.

  2. Capture the page

    Choose Full page for the whole page. For a chat or panel that scrolls inside the page, choose Scrolling area, click it and press Capture the whole area.

  3. Open the export menu

    Click Edit to open the capture in the editor. Mark it up if you like, then click the arrow next to Save PNG.

  4. Choose PDF

    Emaki splits the image into pages and downloads the PDF. With Pro, choose PDF with URL and time to print the page URL and capture time on every page.

  • PNG and JPG are free too. Pro also exports WebP.
  • Chrome's own pages (chrome:// and the Web Store) can't be captured by any extension.

Questions and answers

Is PDF export free?

Yes. Capturing the page and saving it as a PDF, PNG or JPG are free. Emaki Pro, $10/month or $100/year, adds the page URL and capture time on every page.

How is this different from Chrome's Print to PDF?

Print to PDF lays the page out again for paper, so it can look different from the screen, and a chat or panel that scrolls inside the page usually prints only the part on screen. A Emaki PDF is made from the screenshot, so it looks the way the page looked in your browser.

Can I save a scrolling chat or feed as a PDF?

Yes. Choose Scrolling area, click the chat or feed and press Capture the whole area. Then export the capture as a PDF from the editor.
