A free Screencastify alternative with no watermark
Emaki's screen recorder is free with no watermark, no limit on how many videos you record or how long they are, and no account. It records a tab, a window or your screen with your microphone and a webcam bubble, keeps the video on your computer, and downloads it as MP4 or GIF. Emaki Pro, $10/month or $100/year, adds share links that expire.

What Emaki does differently
No watermark, no caps
Record as many videos as you like, for as long as your computer has room, with no watermark and no account. The online recorder saves every second, so a closed tab can be recovered.
Your video stays yours
Recordings are made and kept in your browser. Nothing is uploaded unless you create a share link with Emaki Pro, and that copy is deleted when the link expires.
Made for quick how-tos
Read from a teleprompter that floats above your other windows, then trim the result, save it as MP4 or turn a few seconds into a GIF for a message or a ticket.
Screenshots and guides too
The same extension takes full page screenshots, captures long chats and feeds that scroll inside a page as one image, and turns a tab recording into a step-by-step guide.

Questions and answers
Is Emaki's screen recorder really free?
Yes. Recording, the webcam bubble, the teleprompter, trimming and MP4 or GIF downloads are free, with no account, no watermark and no limit on the number or length of recordings. Emaki Pro adds share links for videos.
Can I share a recording as a link like Screencastify?
Yes, with Emaki Pro ($10/month or $100/year). The video is uploaded as an MP4 of up to 95 MB, and the link stops working after 1, 7 or 30 days. Without Pro, download the MP4 and send it however you like.
Do I need to install anything?
No. The online screen recorder at emaki.appzlr.com/record/ works in Chrome and Edge. The Emaki extension adds recording from the toolbar and scroll recording of whole pages.
Can I use Emaki and Screencastify together?
Yes. They don't interfere with each other. Each one opens from its own toolbar icon.
